RULES - DIRECTOR COMPETITION

Each submission for the Kangaroo Project Director Competition must conform to the following mandatory requirements:

One single-faced 30" x 40" x 1/4" foam core board to include:

• A directorial treatment (maximum 1000 words).
• An illustrated storyboard and shot list.
• Additional information the entrant deems pertinent.
• Three-dimensional attachments to the board are NOT permitted.
• Marks, information or names identifying the individual submitting the board are NOT permitted.
• Tape an unmarked, sealed envelope containing the entry form, payment and name of the director competition participant to the back of the board.
• All text and information must be in English and a minimum of 14 point (1/8 inch) font size.
• Boards must NOT be framed or covered in plastic or glass.

The proposed project must be a :30 television public service announcement about DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PREVENTION. It must be viable to shoot the proposed project in Minnesota within a one or two day period. The Kangaroo Project Director Competition is open to anyone with the exception of jury members, the previous year's winners and board members of the Sean Francis Foundation.

Each submission must be accompanied by an entry form and payment in the amount of $25 made payable to Sean Francis Foundation. The entry form must contain the name and mailing address of a entrant. Entries must be received no later than 5:00 PM, Friday, August 4, 2006. This is not a postmark deadline. Absolutely no late entries will be accepted.

All ideas and designs submitted become the property of the Sean Francis Foundation. If the idea or concept is pursued by the Sean Francis Foundation for production, the entrant(s) will be contacted to determine their capacity and interest to implement the idea. Idea and/or concept implementation may be required to adjust to production or financial circumstances.
